How Our “Socialized Self” Can Block Us From Moving Forward In Midlife

Hi Again Dear ~

In my last email to you I shared about my huge wake up call nine years ago that woke me up to how I was compromising myself in a relationship even though I was smart and self aware like you. I was even teaching women how to avoid that!!

This all had a gift for me as it opened my heart to have so much compassion for others and not judge. Our “Socialized Self” is so conditioned in us that it’s very hard to see how it may be running our lives without us even realizing it.

As women it’s not uncommon to go through the first half of our lives before we even begin to recognize that living from our Socialized Self isn’t working.

That awareness comes in many forms.

• Maybe you feel like you’re going crazy because everything seems to be intensified for you from your feelings to your senses.

• Maybe things that weren’t so important to you now feel like they need attention NOW.

• You have a sense that something is going wrong or that you’ve done something wrong along the way, but you have no idea what that may be.

• You’ve done everything your supposed to do, been there for everyone, and still you feel this way! Hormonal changes only add to and intensify everything.

Here’s the real tragedy. When we do go seeking help, society only reinforces the idea that something is wrong with us! We are given quick fixes in the form of pills to deal with physical or mental/emotional symptoms.
Now I’m not saying that taking pills is bad, but if we don’t find out what the underlying cause is for some of what we are feeling it will only shove those things deeper within us. This usually leaves us feeling broken and is only a temporary mast for the symptoms that will surface later stronger than ever before .

I would like you to entertain an idea with me that may seem strange to you.
What if nothing is going wrong even though it feels like it is?
What if it’s just society’s interpretation?

What if you are going through a sacred rite of passage? Maybe you’ve heard of midlife being a sacred rite of passage where our old self (Socialized Self) is being dismantled for a new self (Authentic Soul) to be born and maybe you haven’t.

Because I had apprenticed in Native American Shamanism for five years, I knew that the wise elders of ancient societies honored this time in a woman’s life, considered is sacred, and treated it like a rebirth and renewal. It’s a powerful and profound transformation instead of a bad thing that needs to be fixed!

In my own life this shift in perspective opened up a whole new enchanted world to me where I was entering my wisdom years and going through a deep transformational process from the inside out. It made all the difference in the world to me that I will share with you on this journey together.

I would love it if you would email me if this makes any sense to you. What are some of the challenges you are going through? Do you feel misunderstood, undervalued, unrecognized at this time in your life? What is your experience? I would love to hear from you. Email me: and I will respond.

In the next short email, I will introduce you to what’s possible for you when you make this shift and a free tele-seminar that will take place on Tuesday, November 5 from 8:00 – 9:30 PM Eastern Time. Stay tuned in a couple of days!!

Enchanted Blessings ~
